Newell Appointed Director Of Energy Services At EMCOR Services NY/NJ
To Lead Company's Energy/Sustainability Initiatives
POMPTON PLAINS, NJ, February 8, 2008 -- Donald Newell, P.E., C.E.M. LEED AP, has been named Director of Energy Services at EMCOR Services NY/NJ.

In his new position, Mr. Newell will oversee the company's efforts to help clients reduce their energy consumption and associated environmental impact. In addition to Mr. Newell's appointment, EMCOR Services NY/NJ has proven their commitment to “green” initiatives through some unique programs. As a mechanical service provider to midtown Manhattan, EMCOR Services NY/NJ is supplying its fleet of service technicians with new mobile service push carts in order to service buildings in New York's Garment District. This initiative is intended to lessen congestion in an already congested area, alleviate vehicle emissions and improve productivity.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager and LEED Accredited Professional, Mr. Newell is experienced in the engineering and construction of complex HVAC systems for high-tech facilities in such fields as pharmaceutical manufacturing, food
processing, and specialty manufacturing. His expertise encompasses all phases of design-build projects, including conceptual design, final design, construction management, and commissioning.
Mr. Newell holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, New York and Texas. The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) has established his professional engineering record and designated him a model law engineer. The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) has certified him as an energy manager, and the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) has certified him as a testing and balancing supervisor (air and hydronics) and as a building systems commissioning administrator. The National Society of Professional Engineers recently identified him as a rising leader in the engineering industry.
Mr. Newell currently serves as President of The Mid-Atlantic Environmental Balancing Association (MAEBA), an organization dedicated to promoting excellence within the mechanical and environmental systems industry. His professional memberships include the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the New Jersey Green Building Council, the AEE, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Code Council (ICC) and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
